Day 01 – … / Lima

¡Welcome to Peru!

Upon arrival at The International Airport of Lima (Jorge Chavez) a representative of Peru 4×4 adventures / Quality Travel International will be awaiting for you, from there on transfer to the hotel. Arrival and check in (15:00 Hrs.). Short briefing about the expedition and the usage of the 4×4 units, as well as safety regulations etc.

Day 02 – Lima – Caral – Barranca (Total 192 kms)

Breakfast at the hotel.

07:00 hrs departure in 4×4 heading out on the northern Panamerican Highway to visit the Sacred City of Caral, the Oldest City in America. Continued, we visit the Fortress of Paramonga; archaeological site belonging to the Chimu culture which later was occupied by the Inca Cacique. Return to Barranca, a small city that lives on trade.

Day 03 – Barranca –Chavin de Huantar – Huaraz (216 kms)

Breakfast.

Departure to visit the Archaeological City of Chavín de Huántar. Belonging to the pre-Incan Chavin culture. In the western facade of the temple, Stone carved heads were nailed; simulating monstrous looking sculptures are excellent examples of lithic art of the Chavin Culture. In one of its interior galleries is the famous (Lanzón) Monolith, of 4.53 m. high. The archaeological site of Chavín was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1985. We will also make a brief visit to the local Museum. Transfer to Huaraz city.

Day 04 – Huaraz – Llanganuco – Yungay – Huaraz

Breakfast.

Departure to visit the Llanganuco lagoons, turquoise lagoons which are famous in Peru and the world, located 84 kilometres northeast of Huaraz in the Huascaran National Park. Then we continue our visit to the ancient city Yungay buried by the quake and mudslide on 1970. Now a World Heritage Site.

Return to the hotel and overnight. (B)

Day 05 – Huaraz –Casma –Sechin– Trujillo (Total 312 kms)

Breakfast in the hotel.

Departure to visit the archaeological complex of Sechin is one of the most important archaeological monuments of Peru, because of their age and architectural beauty. Corresponds to the Formative period, 1800-200 BC. It was discovered in 1937 by archaeologist Julio César Tello.

At the site also visit the Museum of Max Uhle site, which showcases the most important pieces obtained from the archaeological excavations and provides an overview of the history of the town of Casma. On route we will visit the city of eternal sunshine “Casma” then transfer to the city of Trujillo, also called “City of Eternal Spring”.

Arrival at Trujillo check inn at the hotel.

Day 06 – Trujillo

Breakfast in the hotel.

Early departure to visit the Huaca Arco Iris or Dragon, which belong to the archaeological tourism circuit of Chan Chan. Continue to visit the largest mud city in northern Peruvian city of Chan Chan, Nikan or Tschudi Palace and its museum.

Finally, we visit the Temples of the Sun and the Moon which were constructed by the Moche culture (500 years before Christ). It is said that these pyramids 130 feet tall, are the largest adobe construction on the American continent.

Return to the hotel.

Day 07 – Trujillo – Chiclayo (Total 204 kms)

Early transfer to the city of Chiclayo…

Day 08 – Chiclayo

Breakfast at hotel.

Early departure to visit the Historic Sanctuary “Bosque de Pomac”…

Day 09 – Chiclayo – Chachapoyas (435 Kms)

Breakfast.

At fixed time departure from Chiclayo in 4×4 units with direction to Chachapoyas…

Day 10 – Chachapoyas – Kuelap – Chachapoyas

After breakfast, we go towards the Fortress of Kuelap…

Day 11 – Chachapoyas – Gocta – Chachapoyas

Breakfast at the hotel.

4×4 departure to the town of Cocachimba…

Day 12 – Chachapoyas – Jaen – Lima

Breakfast at hotel.

At fixed time we depart from Chachapoyas to the city of Jaen…

Day 13 – Lima / …

Transfer to the airport in order to board your international flight. (B)
