Day 01 – … / Lima

¡Welcome to Peru!

Upon arrival at The International Airport of Lima (Jorge Chavez) a representative of Peru 4×4 adventures / Quality Travel International will be waiting for you, from there on transfer to the hotel. Arrival and check in (15:00 Hrs.). Short briefing about the expedition and the usage of the 4×4 units, as well as safety regulations etc.

Day 02 – Lima – Paracas (303 kms)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Departure at 07:00 hours in 4×4 vehicles to the city of Paracas. En route, visit the town of Chilca, known for its reports of UFO sightings. We will be able to visit the town and talk with the locals, as well as eat the famous UFO ice cream.

Then we will continue to the archaeological site of “Tambo Colorado” which was an Inca settlement (1450 A.D.) located in the province of Pisco. The name was given by the predominance of red color in its constructions. It is a group of buildings made of mud and adobe walls; among them are the best-preserved ruins in Peru.

17:00 Hrs. Transfer to the meeting point with the buggies, we start the tour through the beautiful dunes until we reach a high point with a spectacular view, where we will take some nice pictures and practice sandboarding (sand skiing), before continuing our tour.

You will find an exclusive tent, prepared for you, surrounded by beautiful dunes, a warm fire welcomes us, the staff will serve you a refreshing welcome drink, accompanied by a cheeseboard and assorted hams, while you enjoy the atmosphere, photos, soft music and others will preamble to the dinner that awaits you.

Overnight, breakfast will be served the next day and departure from Glamping will be early.

Day 03 – Paracas – Ica (220 kms)

Breakfast at the Glamping.

08:00 Hrs. In the morning departure to Paracas to board your boat tour to the Ballestas Islands, from where you can observe sea lions, seals, Humboldt penguins and many other species of birds.

Then you will visit the Julio C. Tello Museum, which contains an exhibition of ceramics and textiles that represent the evolution of the Paracas culture. You can also visit the Interpretation Center of the Reserve, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the bay and migratory birds such as flamingos and others.

Finally, we enter the Paracas National Reserve crossing the famous sand valley to the shore of the bay passing by beaches like Caquio or Caclio, Carhuas, Tunga, etc. In front of the bay are located the Guano Islands, Independencia or La Vieja and Santa Rosita.

Time to enjoy a box lunch.

Finally, we continued to the city of Ica.

Day 04 – Ica – Museo Regional + Huacachina – Nazca

Breakfast at the hotel.

Visit to the Huacachina Lagoon also called “THE OASIS OF AMERICA” where we will appreciate the wonderful desert landscape surrounded by impressive dunes.

Then we will visit the Regional Museum of Ica where we will appreciate the evolution of the five most representative cultures of the region such as: Paracas, Nasca, Wari, Ica Chincha and Inca.

We will make a wide tour of one of the Industrial Warehouses of Ica. Here we will observe the elaboration of a variety of Pisco and/or Wines and finally enjoy a tasting.

Transfer to the city of Nasca.

Day 05 – Overflight of the Nasca Lines

Breakfast in the hotel.

Here it is recommended that breakfast should always be taken after the flight over the Nazca Lines.

This huge set of geoglyphs has a network of lines and drawings of animal and plant figures attributed to the Nazca culture covering an area of approximately 350 km2. Among the main figures we can appreciate the Hummingbird, the Dog, the Monkey, the Astronaut, etc.

The German Maria Reiche dedicated 50 years of her life to the study and investigation of the site, reaching the conclusion that it was an astronomical calendar.

After the overflight of the Nazca Lines, the guided visit to the archaeological complex (pyramid) of Cahuachi begins.

This was a religious and ceremonial center located 28 km from the city of Nasca and it is said that from here, the Nazca Lines were born.

Cahuachi is also said to be the largest city of sand and clay in the world and measures over 24 square kilometers in size.

Return to the hotel.

Day 06 – Nasca – Lima (438 kms)

Breakfast at the hotel.

We suggest an early breakfast at the hotel in order to leave on time for Lima.

In route we will stop at the Antonini Museum, a space dedicated to the Nasca culture and civilization.

The second stop is at La Casa Museo Maria Reiche, which has information on studies of the Nasca lines and figures made by Dr. Maria Reiche Newman, as well as maps, plans, photos, archaeological material and a didactic model of her designs.

The trip continues to Lima.

Arrival and transfer to the hotel in Lima.

Day 07 – Lima/…

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early transfer to the airport to board your flight home.
