Day 01 Lima

Welcome to Peru!

Upon arrival at the International Airport of Jorge Chavez in Lima, a representative of Domiruth/ Peru4x4adventures will receive and transfer you to your chosen hotel in the Miraflores district area. Assistance in the Check in procedure. Afterwards short briefing concerning to the expedition as well as the usage of the SUV 4x4 units and general safety regulations to be followed during the whole tour. Overnight (-)

Day 02 Lima - Tambo Colorado - Paracas (Total Kms Lima - Paracas 303 kms)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early departure at 06:00 Hrs. with 4x4 units with direction to the city of Paracas. On route visit the archaeological site of “Tambo Colorado” which was an Inca settlement (1450 A.D.) located in the province of Pisco. The name was given because of the predominance of red in their buildings. It was one of the most important centres established by the Incas on the coast. It is a set of buildings made of mud walls and adobes; among them are the best preserved ruins of Peru. We continue with the visit to the National Reservation of Paracas. Protected area, which holds many protected bird species. Arrival and check in the hotel. Overnight in Paracas. (B).

Day 03 Paracas - Ica - Nazca (Total Kms Ica-Nazca 214 kms)

Breakfast in the hotel. Early in the morning departure to Paracas in order to board your boat tour to the Ballestas Islands, from where you will observe sea lions, seals, Humboldt penguins and many other bird species. Then with our 4x4 units transfer to the Ica city where we will visit the wine & Pisco bodegas, you will also be able to visit the Regional Museum. Afterwards depart to the city of Nazca, on route you will be able to do some stops in order to observe the Incas head in Palpa, some of the Palpa lines and the Maria Reiche Museum, also climb the observation tower on the Panamericana highway and observe the Nazca Lines. Arrival in Nazca, check in at the hotel and overnight in Nazca. (B)

Day 04 Nazca

Breakfast in the hotel. Although here we recommend that breakfast should always be taken after the flight over the Nazca Lines. After flight over the Nazca Lines guided visit to the Archaeological complex (Pyramid) of Cahuachi. This was a religious and ceremonial centre located 28 kms from the city of Nazca and it is said that from here the Nazca Lines were born. Cahuachi is also said to be the largest sand and clay city in the world and measures in size more than 24 square kilometres. Afterwards return to the hotel. Overnight in Nazca. (B)

Optional: Full Day San Fernando (For this adventure 4x4 excursion it is required that you stay one additional night in Nazca or Ica).

In this excursion we will drive through sand dunes reaching nearly 1000 m.a.s.l overlooking the bay of San Fernando. San Fernando bay is located nearly 70 kms from Nazca city, and it is in this peculiar place you may observe the Condor, Humboldt Penguins, Sea Lions, Guanacos, Dessert Foxes and other typical dessert fauna. A box lunch or a BBQ is possible this under specific request of the client.

Day 05 Nazca - Chalhuanca (Total Kms Nazca-Puquio-Chalhuanca 342 kms)

We suggest an early breakfast at the hotel in order to depart on time from Nazca to Chalhuanca. On our journey we will visit Pampas Galeras, known as one of the principal Vicuna reservations in South America and the largest in the world. If on time and if it is open one can visit the local museum on Vicuna. We will drive by Puquio and also the Yauriviru Lagoon at 4400 m.a.s.l. Before arriving in Chalhuanca we will also have the opportunity to visit the Inca Tambo of Tarawasi. Overnight in Chalhuanca. (B)

Day 06 Chalhuanca - Sacred Valley (Total Kms Chalhuanca - Sacred Valley 336 Kms)

Breakfast at the hotel. On route from Chalhuanca to Cusco, we went through the city of Abancay and continue visit the famous circular carved stone of Saywite, which measures 2.5 metres high. One distinguishes in its carved formed, flora and fauna as well as topographic landscapes of the Inca Empire. Continue the journey to the Sacred Valley in Cusco. Overnight in Urubamba. (B)

Day 07 Sacred Valley

Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the fortress of Ollantaytambo, Pisaq Market and its surroundings, the town of Chincheros, the salt beds of Maras and Moray agricultural complex. Return to Urubamba. Overnight. (B)

Day 08 Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Early Breakfast. Transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Departure by train in Vistadome to Aguas Calientes in a beautiful panoramic ride. Arrival in Aguas Calientes. Outside the train station crossing over the market of Aguas Calientes hop on the bus and 35 minute uphill bus ride to the very entrance of Machu Picchu citadel. 2 hours guided visit through the ruins. In the afternoon return to the train station and board your train back to Ollantaytambo, then transfer to Cusco. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight. (B)

Day 09 Cusco

Breakfast in the hotel. Today, visit to the 4 nearby ruins: Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. In the afternoon visit the Cathedral, Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) and the Main Square of the Imperial Capital. Overnight. (B)

Day 10 Cusco - Puno (Cusco - Puno Total 395 Kms.)

Breakfast in the hotel. 4x4 expedition from Cusco to Puno. In this route you will see beautiful landscapes and spectacular tourist attractions. On route you will visit Andean towns and also following attractions such as Tipon, Rumicolca, Andahuaylillas and La Raya (known as frontier between Cusco department and Puno, also the highest point of the route), Raqchi, and Pucara. Arrival in Puno and overnight. (B)

Day 11 Puno - Titicaca Lake - Puno

Breakfast. Transfer to the pier from where your full day tour will start on the Titicaca Lake, known as the highest navigable lake in the world (3,800 m.a.s.l). Visit the floating Islands of the Uros, the ancient people of the Uros is a ethnicity that lives in these waters for thousands of years and live from the fishing and handcrafts. We continue our tour by boat to the Taquile Island, in which we will walk through this beautiful island and meet local farmers as well as visit the main square. Return by boat to Puno city. Overnight. (B)

Day 12 Puno - Colca (Puno - Colca Total 395 Kms.)

Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to Chivay in the Colca Canyon. On route we will visit the Chullpas de Sillustani known as a pre-Inca burial site surrounded by the beautiful and spectacular lake of Umayo. On route we will pass by another beautiful lake known as Lagunillas. We will also drive by the towns and cities of Juliaca, Santa Lucia and Imata. Before arriving at Chivay we will stop at the mirador Patapampa that reaches 4,950 m.a.s.l. Arrival at Chivay. In the afternoon, visit the thermal baths of la Calera. Return to Chivay and overnight. (B)

Day 13 Colca - Arequipa (Colca - Arequipa Total 148 kms.)

Breakfast in the hotel. Very early in the morning we depart to visit the observation point of La Cruz del Condor (41 kms from Chivay) from where we can, on a good day the flight of the Condor over the Colca Canyon. We return to Chivay but previously on route we will drive by following towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque Observation point of Antahuilque and Choquetico. Afterwards departure to Arequipa city. Arrival and overnight. (B)

Day 14 Arequipa - Lima

Breakfast in the hotel.

Fixed time transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima. Arrival and transfer to the selected hotel. Check in and overnight. (B)

Day 15 Lima

Breakfast in the hotel.

Transfer to the International Airport Jorge Chavez to board your international flight. (B)
